Marriott Associates Bring Literacy—and Surprises—to NYC Students

On April 11th, a group of dedicated Marriott associates made another inspiring visit to one of WGI’s partner schools in New York City. These volunteers—representing iconic Marriott brands like Ritz Carlton, Westin, and St. Regis—have become a familiar and welcome presence, reading one-on-one with students and helping build foundational literacy skills.

The group brought not only their time and energy but also real-world inspiration for the students they meet. And this visit included a special surprise: at the end of the reading session, associates handed out brand-new basketballs as a reward for the students’ hard work and progress.

Partnerships like this bring our mission to life—connecting corporate teams with classrooms, and helping more children believe in their own potential, one page at a time.
